The last recession...

I was very pleased when one Southend resident handed to me these fantastic visual memories, taken circa early 1990's - during the last recession!

Its intriguing to see what was there before HMV/Zavvi/Virgin, the Post Office and many other outlets and, dare I say it, it actually makes the Southend of today look a tad more up-market, instead of market shops lining the street.

I was talking to an old friend on Facebook, regaling stories of buying 12" vinyl in the old HMV - next to Keddies, where Nat West is now! Now that i'd really like to see!....
