Back In Town

It was a touch and go for a while but the Heritage Lottery Fund saw sense and shelved up the cash to put on the exhibition in the Royals. So, there I was again, setting up in the Royals after hours with Taylor & Harlow and a huge effort from Ken Crowe from the Museum - what a legend, he helped me smuggle the exhibition boards out of the college and into place (with the help of Darren the van man).
Today was the first day and already there's been a pretty amazing response with people writing on the unfinished timeline piece, listening to the recordings from the interviews I did last summer and casting their beady eyes over the array of photographs kindly donated by the museum. Many thanks to Dan at The Frame Shop for giving us a nice deal on the frames too.

If you get the chance get down there and take a look at the model, the pictures and the timelines and if you've got any pictures locked away in the cupboard somewhere of Southend High Street then bring em down and we can add them to the archive if you're ok with that. Hopefully I'll be getting BBC Look East down there over the next 6 weeks too! Here's some pics from today to give you a taster...
